JPS power supply issues cause water lock-off in three parishes — NWC
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) says that today’s disruption in water supply to sections of the Corporate Area, St Ann and Clarendon is as a result of Jamaica Public Service (JPS) electricity supply problems, which is affecting operations at some facilities. According to the NWC, the facilities and areas served are:
Port Royal Pumping Station — Kingston: Port Royal
Rock Hall Pumping Station — St Andrew: Coopers Hill, Rock Hall, parts of Red Hills, Topper Hill, Mount Atlas, Belvedere Drive, Waugh Hill, Carr Hill, Frazer Crescent, Woodland, Woodland Circle and Walkers Hill
Liberty Pumping Station — St Ann: Tangle Wood, section of Priory and Hartland.
Kellits Treatment Plant— Clarendon: Kellits, Crofts Hill, Good Hope, Tait, Pedro, Rhoden Hall, Guava Ground, Hickery, Comsie and Jericho.
Twin Palms Treatment Plant — Clarendon: Twin Palms Estate, sections of Palmetto Pen, and sections of Palmers Cross.
The NWC, in apologising for the disruption, did not reveal the nature of the JPS issues, but sought to assure customers that regular water supply would be restored as soon as normality returns to the facilities.
