BMW X4 for sure
ATL Autobahn unveiled the 2019 BMW X4 sports activity vehicle at their Lady Musgrave Road showroom last Friday as the brand continues to refresh its model line-up through the year.
“The X4 has been out since February. We’re just getting it now because of the worldwide demand, as it’s been sold out,” Sloane Jackson, head of business, ATL Autobahn, told the Jamaica Observer’s Auto magazine.
ATL Autobahn rolled out not just one, but three versions of the brand new X4 sports activity vehicle. The original X4 was designed as a smaller version of the X6, which launched the sports activity coupe segment now copied by the brand’s rivals. Now for its second generation, the 2019 BMW X4 has received significant changes to bring it in line with the expectations of all modern BMWs in terms of styling, technology, luxury, and driving dynamics.
“People have been waiting on this for a long time. The X4 needed to have a redesign to separate it from the X6, and I think it’s done that now, having its own design,” said Jackson.
Visually, the X4 now brandishes the current kidney grill styling, and new LED headlights to match the change. The rest of the bodywork retains the signature coupe-like rear roofline, but has more muscular lines, especially accentuated when equipped with the M-Sport package. Inside the interior contains all the convenience features and luxury the brand is known for. Starting the range is an X4 xDrive20i with an 184bhp 2-litre turbocharged engine driving all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The xDrive30i follows with a power bump to 252 horsepower. While there is no X4 M, there is the M Performance version, the X4 M40i. Jackson expects this model to increase the appeal factor to male buyers with its three-litre six-cylinder turbocharged motor outputting 360 horsepower and 369 lb/ft of torque. Those numbers allow it hit 100km/h in 4.8 seconds on its way to its limited 250 km/h top speed.
Jackson added that even with the X4’s local debut, it’s already a hit, having sold out its first allocation.
“We just got our X3 last year, our X2 this year as well as the X4. We’re going to get a new X5 shortly. So we’re now getting a lot of new cars back to back and it allows us to answer questions that are out there verses our competition.”
