Canadian woman dies in accident
A Canadian woman died from injuries she sustained in a three-vehicle collision on Mandela Highway, near Ferry in St Catherine yesterday, police reported.
Two men were also injured in the incident.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Tashana Cumbermack. Her address in Canada was not immediately known.
Police investigators said that about 5:50 am the driver of a Toyota Axio motor car, with three passengers aboard, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Suzuki Vitara SUV. Allegations are that the Suzuki Vitara then collided with a Toyota Hiace bus, in which Cumbermack was a passenger.
The police were summoned and the driver of the Axio and one of his passengers, as well as Cumbermack were taken to hospital.
Cumbermack was subsequently pronounced dead, while the men were admitted for treatment.
