13-y-o boy dies in St Thomas after being hit by minibus
ST THOMAS, Jamaica — Residents in Friendship Pen, St Thomas this morning staged a demonstration, protesting the death of 13-year-old Rhidgeaune Taylor who was hit by a motor vehicle in the community on Friday.
The St Thomas Technical student succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital in the parish.
According to the protestors, the accident took place about 8:30 pm.
The scores of protestors, including children, are calling for motorist to cut their speed when travelling through the community.
“When we go put we children on the bus we affi a run out of the road when we put we children on the bus to how dem a drive fast,” Claudia Robinson told OBSERVER ONLINE this morning.
“We need them (motorist) to cut their speed,” another resident said.
It is not known if the driver was apprehended.
