Blake heads Toucan
Toucan last week welcomed Racquel Blake as the new general manager of its Jamaica operation. She replaces Kelly Silvera who was named in the same position this time last year.
Blake is no stranger to Toucan, having been employed from August 2013 to January 2016 as senior digital account manager, according to her LinkedIn page. During that time she was responsible for, among other duties, conceptualising social media marketing plans for both B2B and B2C clients; ensuring effective reach of all online campaigns; and managing the communication between clients and the creative department, programmers and bloggers.
After her first stint with Toucan, Blake moved on to Digicel in St Lucia as group social media manager. At the regional telecoms company she implemented group-wide social media multicultural marketing plans; digital listening; and analytical reports across 32 territories in the Caribbean, Central America and South Pacific.
In a post on Toucan’s website, Blake is described as being “instrumental in driving brands’ social media and commercial objectives and ensuring that they align hand in hand to deliver value”.
The post continues: “Her robust processes, which she created herself, coupled with creative ideas and smarter project management will take Toucan’s global work even further, bringing best practices to each of our offices through our global communication network and deliver faster, better, smarter and more cost-effective digital media solutions for our clients.
Blake holds a bachelor’s in marketing and international business from the University of Technology, Jamaica.

A barrister by profession, Williams-Gordon holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, completing legal training and earning the Certificate of Legal Education from Norman Manley Law School in Kingston.
