Why we love Sandals: It’s the people, guests say
A great many of the over four million tourists who visited Jamaica last year were repeat visitors to Sandals Resorts. Their common reason was “the Sandals people”.
Paul and Sara Thager of Woodlands, Texas were visiting for the third time and got the photo opportunity of their lives when they posed with Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Sandals Chairman Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart who hosted a Christmas luncheon at the Sandals Montego Bay resort, St James.
Prime Minister Holness, in his address to the gathering later, quoted Sara as telling him on his arrival: “You have to stop using ‘yeh mon’, (the popular tourist saying) and start saying ‘yeh womon’ to represent the new times.”
Not unexpectedly, the couple said they chose Sandals because “it’s just the best’ and “we love the people here”.
Lu Banks of Pennsylvania, United States said he was on his fourth visit to Sandals, again because he loved the staff who “make me feel special every time”. He added… “I really love it here”.
For Charles and Cynthia Day of New York: “It’s the people we love, we can’t stay away.” It was visit number three for the couple who said they had already booked their fourth visit to Sandals.
Bill and Carol Campbell of Maryland have been staying at Sandals several times over the past five years. “We always enjoy ourselves. We get to do just what we want and the people here are fabulous. We also love the food and drinks.”
James Jordan 111 was repeat visiting but on this occasion had taken his wife Valerie who was on her first. She said she was loving her stay and the staff, and “will most definitely be back”.
