Expect lengthy delays along Washington Boulevard this evening
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) is alerting motorists to the possibility of lengthy delays, for traffic travelling towards the Mandela Highway, along Washington Boulevard due to flooding in the vicinity of the Six Miles Bridge.
The flooding appears to have been caused by a broken NWC main.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, explained that there are now long queues of traffic heading towards Spanish Town and said the delays may persist into late evening.
Motorists who plan to use this roadway are being urged to use alternative routes such as the Portmore leg of Highway 2000 or via Sligoville.
The NWA is appealing to motorists to exercise patience, and caution, as they traverse the corridor, while the relevant authorities work to have it operating as normal in the shortest possible time.
