MONTEGO BAY, St James —Defending champions Wadadah FC need only a draw against Hopewell United in their Zone Two top of the table clash at the UDC field on Tuesday to qualify for the mid-season final of the Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation Charley’s JB Rum Super League with Faulkland FC.

Wadadah FC lead Zone B with 21 points after beating Falmouth United 3-1 on Sunday, effectively knocking them out of mid-season final contention.

Wadadah have three points more than Hopewell United who must win to qualify for the consolation final.

Faulkland FC, last season’s mid-season champions, booked their spot in the February 17 final after a late comeback, to beat Granville United 2-1 at Granville on Sunday.

Faulkland FC’s 21 points at the top of Zone One cannot be passed by any team as second placed Harmony FC were held 0-0 by Somerton FC, who are on 16 points, five off the lead.

On Tuesday, Wadadah FC will be seeking back-to-back revenge wins after they had lost to both Falmouth United and Hopewell United in the first round.

Both teams are unbeaten in the second round, but while Wadadah FC have won all four games and have momentum on their side, Hopewell United are seeking to rev up their run after drawing back-to- back games in the round.

Hopewell United are nonetheless coming off a big 5-0 thrashing of Delveland on Sunday, and still have the best defensive record in the zone, conceding just five goals, to Wadadah FC’s seven.

Faulkland FC will have the luxury of rotating their squad against Lucea FC in their game at Jarrett Park as they prepare for the final, but should be seeking to maintain their unbeaten record.

Falmouth United, still smarting from their biggest loss of the season, will end the round against the hapless Reggae Youths at Elleston Wakeland Centre in Falmouth.

Reggae Youths, back-to-back mid-season finalists and semi-finalists last season, had lost their first five games before a brief respite when they picked up three points in back-to-back games, but have since lost a number of players and their last two games.

Harmony FC, second in Zone One and Sandals South Coast, third, are to meet at Crocs Lawn in Whitehouse, Westmoreland as they seek to end the round on a positive note, as well as to get a favourable position when the cross-zone round starts later this month.

Granville United will seek to revive their momentum when they play away to Somerton FC and should seek to repeat their big first round win after going winless in their last four games.
