It is well with my soul
The following is an open letter to the World Council of Churches:
Dear Editor,
As long as I can remember, say, age five, in Sunday school at Bailey’s Vale Church of God Holiness, St Mary, the teaching was to give your heart to God.
As I grew up reading through the Bible, at least three times, one of the common messages is to give your heart to God.
For the past 20 to 30 years, whenever I go to prayer, I pray and ask for wisdom and that I have received.
Of note, over the years, it is common in the medical arena for heart transplants to be effected; this makes me think of the areas in the Bible and the teaching that says give your heart to God.
I am a full believer of Heaven and Earth, and I know there is a God, so I will give to God my soul and spirit knowing that my heart is just another vital part of my body that can be given away.
The good thing is that it is well with my soul.
What does the church say?
