Sagicor lists first Canadian company on JSE
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Sagicor Investments today listed the first Canadian-based company – Equityline Mortgage Investments Corporation (ELMIC) – on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
With this accomplishment, the company, which raised US$5.3 million from this initial public offering, has intentions to cross-list on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) in the next six months, said Sagicor Investments.
The IPO received 140 applications and sold more than two million units.
Local investors were offered US$10 million in preference shares at a price of US $2.00 per share.
Equityline, in its prospectus, said local investors will receive returns of eight per cent per annum in monthly dividends.
