Two newcomers to decide section one of trophy race
Division One of the John Clifton Wright Memorial Cup feature should provide some good competition among the 10 runners taking part.
The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at the runners entered and their chances of winning in order of their draw positions.
DESRIANNA: (3-y-o, b f – Rising Moon – Giacomo’s Pride) — Fairly bred filly who seems to want more time to develop. However, three-year-olds racing for the first time are extremely unpredictable and so it Is left to be seen what Desrianna will do tomorrow.
PINE NUT: (3-y-o, b f – Blue Pepsi Lodge – Jadore) — Has raced two times before and finished in fourth place on both occasions. Pine Nut has been timely prepared for this one and should run a much better race without actually winning. Maybe good for exotic wager look-in.
DEVINE LEXIE: (3-y-o, b f – Natural Selection – Preach Preacher) — Has done nothing in her nine races to date and should be bypassed here. Note the blinkers are off and the visor is on but even that change of equipment means nothing for Devine Lexie’s chances tomorrow.
MISS HAZEL: (3-y-o, ch f – Rising Moon – Velocity) — Let’s see how Miss Hazel is going to perform tomorrow before making any assessment of her ability.
BLACK RIVER: (3-y-o, dk b/br f – Storm Craft – She Sell Off) — Well-bred filly who should run well the first time of asking. Black River is said to be training well coming into this race and should impact on the outcome, but let us wait and see first.
DORA LEE: (3-y-o, ch f – Strikewhileitshot – Back At You) — Disappointing on debut when finishing in eighth place by 8 1/4 behind Special Counsel over the five-furlong (1,000m) straight course on January 26. Little or no improvement is expected here.
PRINCESS LAUREN: (3-y-o, ch f – Soul Warrior – Lipstick Lily) — Another well-bred filly who is down to compete for the first time. Princess Lauren has been moving well in the mornings and a good run here is anticipated. Clockers are saying that Princess Lauren has quite a lot of work under her belt with her last gallop over 5 ½ furlongs was clocked in a time of 1:07.0.
OUT ON A LIMB: (3-y-o, ch f – Who’s Stayin On – Storm Watch) — Will have no effect on the race.
MYSTIC MAMMA: (3-y-o, b f – Nuclear Wayne – Mama C) — Has shown good speed in her gallops and with the experience of six career starts, Mystic Mamma should should some natural improvement.
SPLENDID VISION: (3-y-o, gr f – Fearless Vision – Intensified) — Looks to be a good one in the making. Splendid Vision has been working really well and with nothing outstanding in the line-up can get off the mark right away. Galloped 48.4 seconds for four furlongs in her last exercise gallop before this race on Sunday last.
