UPDATE: Woman charged with child stealing
KINGSTON, Jamaica —
The woman who was held with a stolen baby last week has been charged.
Peta-Gay Ffrench, 27, of a Harkers Hall, St Catherine address was charged with child stealing late Monday evening.
Ffrench was arrested last Tuesday after she went to the Registrar General’s Department in Twickenham Park, St Catherine in an attempt to have the baby registered.
Officials at the department grew suspicious after noticing discrepancies with the documents she submitted.
A DNA test later confirmed that the baby belonged to Sinclair Hutton and Suzzett Whyte, whose baby was snatched from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital on January 9.
The one-month-old boy was on Friday reunited with his parents.
