Super-hot Man City face Newport County in FA Cup action

…JustBet offers a whopping $28 for a Newport win

THIS Saturday, February 16th and Sunday February 17th, there are some eye-catching encounters across Europe’s top leagues for football lovers to enjoy and JustBet previews three of those fascinating match-ups.

Firstly, we take you to England where the destructive Manchester City, fresh from their 6-0 battering of hapless Chelsea, pay a visit to Newport County in an FA Cup encounter, after which we take the short flight over to Italy where the hottest striker in Italy, Krzysztof Piatek, bursting with confidence takes aim at a high-flying Atalanta team. We then zip over to Spain to witness the Spanish champions, Barcelona, hosting a Valladolid team seeking an upset win.

FA Cup ties don’t come much more romantic than Newport hosting Manchester City in the season of love.

League Two team, Newport, appear to be facing mission impossible in terms of getting past a super-talented Manchester team that is packed with expensive talents from top to bottom.

Newport have already claimed two decent scalps in the previous rounds, beating Premier League big wig Leicester City and Championship team Middlesbrough to set up this fascinating clash. Manchester City on the other hand, will look to keep their momentum going by fielding a strong team just as they did in the previous rounds when they thumped Rotherham 7-0 and Burnley 5-0 in the last two rounds.

The betting tip! Manchester City win

The hottest striker in Italian football currently, Krzysztof Piatek takes his AC Milan side to Atalanta tomorrow for a clash that will have major implication in the top-four finish in Serie A this season.

The current battle for a Champions League spot is one of the most hard-fought races across Europe – with four Italian giants just a point apart. AC Milan 39, Atalanta 38, Roma 38 and Lazio 38 are all fighting for that crucial fourth spot.

Atalanta is one of the toughest sides to face in Italy right now, as only Juventus have more points than them over the last eight Serie A games. On top of that, they thumped Juventus 3-0 in a recent Coppa Italia clash, which is the champions only domestic defeat this season, and their first Coppa Italia defeat in five years. As a result, Atalanta is now just a point shy of the top four and will look to continue their excellent form when Milan stroll into town.

AC Milan are also in fine form, thanks to the telling contribution of Polish striker Piatek, their recently acquired US$35-million sharpshooter has scored four times in his first three games. Milan are currently flying, even their once porous defence has improved with four clean sheets in their last five games. However, they do have an issue away to the top sides, giving away a goal in all their away trips to the top seven sides in Serie A so far. Based on the excellent form of both teams, it should be an even match-up and one goal might decide the winner in this one.

The betting tip! Atalanta win.

In our final game tomorrow, La Liga leaders Barcelona host struggling Valladolid in the highlight game of the weekend in Spain.

Six points clear at the top, Barcelona are hopeful of victory against 15th-placed Valladolid. However, Barcelona have drawn their last three games and have one eye on the trip to Lyon for a Champions League clash next week.

Drawing their last game, 0-0 away to Athletico Bilbao, Barcelona failed to score for the first time in 37 league games. They now look to right that wrong against a struggling side on their home turf, as by their own exceptionally high standards, they are experiencing a dip in form, having drawn their last three games.

On the flip side, Valladolid currently sitting in 15th in La Liga want to take advantage of the dip in form of Barcelona and go for the upset. As in the reverse fixture back in August, they had an injury time equaliser ruled out after a video assistant referee review. Valladolid are tough to beat at home, but their atrocious away form is where their problems lie, hence they might return home empty-handed from this trip to Catalonia.

The betting tip! Barcelona win.
