MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Spalding bus owner and operator Jermain Reid is scheduled to make an appearance in the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday, March 13, following charges stemming from his altercation with a police officer earlier this month.

According to head of the Manchester Police Division, Wayne Cameron, the 45-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, two counts of assault at common-law for trying to disarm the officer and for resisting arrest.

Amateur videos captured by bystanders of Reid shoving the policeman and the general chaos in the town on February 5 have gone viral.

Allegations are that after stopping a bus owned by Reid to look at the documents, the policeman, who was attacked, proceeded to place the vehicle on a wrecker along with another officer.

It is further reported that the bus owner, in an effort to prevent them from taking action, attacked the officer and was shot in the process.

Reid received medical treatment in hospital and was released.
