Junior ready to Rumble
ON-the-rise gospel singer Junior Rumble is upbeat ahead of the launch of his debut set, Royalty, A Child of the King, at the Freedom Evangelical Association in Portmore, St Catherine, next Friday.
“This album is for everyone. It is to uplift Christians. It’s also for those who have not yet given their lives to Christ, encouraging them to do so, and it is for those who have turned away from Christianity, urging them to come back into the fold,” the 24-year-old told the Jamaica Observer yesterday.
“I’m hoping the album connects with people while spreading the gospel.”
The six-track ‘Royalty’ set boasts A Child of the King, Wanna Be Sure, Need You Now, Let Your Glory Fall, All in All, and Praise featuring Mychal Malachi.
Rumble said he is working with Pioneer Music to get the word out.
In addition to his album, the occasion will see the launch of his T-shirt line and his paintings.
Junior Rumble (his given name) hails from Mount Prospect in rural St Andrew. A past student of Oberlin High, he led the youth choir and ministered at rallies and other social events.
He got his musical break four years ago with the single With My Lord.
“That song was more of a learning experience. After releasing it, I took time off from music and learned as much as I could about the industry,” he said.
Today, he is now ready to carve out his niche in the gospel music industry.
“This is who I am; I was created to worship and I have dedicated my life to being a worship machine for Jesus,” he said.
