Record-breaking jump
Rusea’s High’s Nia Robinson makes her record-breaking jump, setting a new COCAA Western Champs Class 2 girls long jump record on Saturday at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex when she jumped 5.86m to beat the nine year-old mark of 5.75m held by Rochelle Farquharson of STETHS. It was Robinson’s second record of the meet after she set a Class 2 high jump record 1.76m at the Girls’ Eliminations held at Rusea’s High. She beat the old record 1.75m also set in 2010 by another STETHS athlete Peta-Gay Reid. A total of five records were set over the three days of the championships.
