Derrick Pitter debuts with Reggae
After almost 40 years recording professionally, singer Derrick Pitter will release his first album. Titled Reggae , it comprises 12 songs and is scheduled to be out by summer.
Pitter is signed to Bahamian label Reacapp Productions Bahamas Limited which is owned by songwriter and producer Raquel P Forbes.
“I’m very excited about this project. The team has been working hard to make this an excellent album that will feature 12 authentic reggae songs. These are the type of songs that all true reggae lovers can appreciate,” Pitter said.
Give Dem What Dem Want is the first single from Reggae, and the Spanish Town-based artiste is upbeat about feedback it has received thus far.
“I’m happy about the support that the song has been receiving, it’s getting a lot of airplay in Jamaica, and other places including The Bahamas. I’m grateful and appreciative for all the love it’s getting.”
Pitter recorded his first song while attending St Andrew Technical High School. That single, Feelings of Love, was released by Harry J Records in 1980.
Other Derrick Pitter’s songs are Play Mr Music Play (produced by The World And Its People) and The World and Its People, both of which were released on the Tamoki Wambesi label.
