Bogue register first win in Sandals Major League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Promoted Bogue FC scored their first win in the St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Major League, after blanking winless Marl Road FC 2-0 at UDC field on Tuesday.
Bogue FC, winners of the Division One last season, had drawn two and lost one of their first three games, and the win moves them into joint third place with Heights FC in Zone 2, both on five points.
Also on Tuesday, Irwin FC beat Melbourne Mind Game 2-1 at Albion while on Wednesday, Catherine Hall FC came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Violet Kickers at UDC Field.
On Tuesday, Bogue FC’s Neil Stevens’ looping shot in the 50th minute — from midway the half — dipped behind the Marl Road goalkeeper Romario Lewis and into the goal to give them the lead.
Sanjay Patterson added a second goal in the 80th minute to secure his team’s first win of the season.
At Albion, Irwin FC won for the second time this season, edging Melbourne Mind Game and inched past them in the points tables in Zone 1.
Paul Livingston gave Irwin FC the lead in the 26th minute and they led 1-0 at the half-time before Garfield Hall levelled for Melbourne Mind Game in the 52nd minute.
Odaine Livingston however, ensured all three points for Irwin when he scored in the 83rd minute.
On Wednesday, an added-time goal from Catherine Hall’s Ricardo Taylor denied Violet Kickers back-to-back wins after Alando McIntosh had given them a 2-0 lead midway the second half.
Violet Kickers took the lead in the 10th minute, though McIntosh added a second in the 63rd minute to give his team what seemed a comfortable lead.
Kevon Walker pulled one back for Catherine Hall in the 65th minute before Taylor earned them a point when he scored two minutes into time added.
