Constant Spring require much to buck losing trend in Magnum KSAFA Super League
Constant Spring FC must successfully implement a raft of changes if they are to buck their losing trend in the Magnum KSAFA Super League, when they face defending champions Barbican FC in the feature game of a Zone A double-header at Constant Spring Complex today, beginning at 8:30 pm.
Constant Spring have been beaten in all three of their matches since gaining promotion for the 2019 season, suffering a 1-3 defeat against Meadforest FC in their last match one week ago.
It was a match that they would have entered with hopes for a better result, as both gained promotion after playing in last season’s Major League final. However, Constant Spring could not alter their form, despite staying even with their opponents for more than half the game.
Their Head Coach Gregory “Messam” Walters thinks that was largely down to their conditioning, among other things.
The coach added that his players are not sticking to the game plan.
Meadforest made use of the second balls to counter them with deadly effect, especially in the second half when they rose above a 1-1 tie that existed up to the hour mark. Oshane Aaron (15th), Dondre Walker (64th) and Ian Davis (89th) accounted for the goals for Meadforest, who have four points after winning, losing and drawing one game apiece. Rohan Shea (20th) scored for Constant Spring FC, who are yet to register a point.
They need to get that down pat against Barbican FC, who jointly head the group with seven points from two wins and a draw. Barbican are quite experienced, balanced and capable of delivering another win, with Tajahe Dixon among their point men.
The first game, at 6:30 pm, brings together third-place Molynes United FC against Maxfield Park FC. Molynes lie third in the zone on four points after registering a win, draw and loss, while Maxfield are second from bottom with two points, secured in two drawn games and one loss.
Both already have a number of players on the scorer’s chart, with Tyrek Sutherland, Orane Ferguson and Ryan Brown headlining Molynes’ charge, and Maxfield’s Carey Powell and Mark Malcolm leading the lines.
