Man shot after allegedly attacking security guard at Mandeville Tax Office
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A man was shot and injured during a confrontation with an armed security guard at the Mandeville Tax Office in Manchester this morning.
According to police reports, shortly before 9:00 am the man alighted from a vehicle and approached the security guard.
He reportedly pulled a knife on the guard and in his defence, the guard shot him.
The police confirmed that the injured man has been admitted to hospital in stable condition.
Operations at the tax office have not been disrupted.
However, the security guard was taken off duty to facilitate the police investigation.
