Changes at Sagicor, as Armstrong set to depart
Sagicor Group Jamaica Ltd has made several recent changes to its operating structure.
Philip Armstrong, executive vice-president — strategy and innovation and chief technology officer, will demit office on May 24, 2019 while Simone Walker, vice-president — group marketing, will step down tomorrow.
Following the departures, Sagicor is creating a new role of chief information officer to oversee the digitisation process of the group and a new candidate for this position is being recruited.
Meanwhile, Alysia Moulton White will take over the Group Marketing Department in her role as assistant vice-president, group marketing. Moulton White joined Sagicor in September 2010 as assistant manager, group marketing and then became manager Promotions and Special Projects in May 2015. She assumed the position of assistant vice-president in January 2018.
Before joining Sagicor, Moulton White worked as a producer and presenter for CVM Television Ltd and as a wedding and events manager before that at Great Vacations Ltd.
Armstrong joined Sagicor Investments Ltd as CEO and director in 2002. In June of 2014 he became Deputy CEO and director of Sagicor Bank Jamaica before being appointed executive vice-president — strategy and innovation and chief technology officer in January, 2018.
Armstrong successfully participated recently in the Harvard Business School’s Disruptive Innovation: Strategies For A Successful Enterprise, executive education and advanced management programmes.
Walker joined Sagicor in April 2018 as vice-president, Group Marketing. Her previous positions prior to arriving at Sagicor included marketing consultant for The Brand House Agency, director of marketing programmes at Scotiabank and assistant marketing manager at Jamaica National Building Society (now JN Bank).
