Principals, bursars attend professional development workshops
MORE than 90 principals and bursars from across the island are this week attending a three-day National Council on Education (NCE) training workshop being coordinated by the National College for Education Leadership (NCEL).
The initiative, said the education ministry, is being done under the NCE’s Board of Management Training Programme.
“The programme is designed to equip board executives with the skills needed to influence and guide the strategic direction of their schools, increase awareness of the legal and regulatory framework governing public educational institutions, as well as to empower board executives to effectively interrogate and navigate the various ethical dilemmas faced by schools,” said a ministry release.
The training, said the ministry, is an essential component to attaining the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 4 which seeks to ensure inclusive and quality education for all.
NCEL serves the developmental needs of all school leaders including aspiring and tenured principals, middle managers, bursars and board executives.
