#Champs2019: JC’s Scott marches to Class 3 100m semis in record time
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Whatever mishaps Jamaica College had on the opening day of the 109th staging of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’and Girls’ Athletic Championships are now a thing of the past, as the athletes have found their footing on day three.
Young Christopher Scott rallied to lower the boys’ Class Three 100 metre record a short while ago at the National Stadium.
Scott, the overwhelming favourite for the gold medal easily progressed to the semi-final with a brisk 10.69 clocking that erased the previous best of 10.79 set last year by Kingston College’s Bouwahjgie Nkrumie.
The new record, which is the second of the championships, was clocked in wet conditions in a negative 0.2 metres per second wind reading.
