#Champs2019: Duff mines javelin gold for St Catherine

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Ashley Duff finished top in the girls’ javelin throw open to claim St Catherine High’s first medal at the 109th ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’and Girls’ Athletic Championships underway at the National Stadium.

Duff launched the instrument to a mark of 40.79m to prove that she is no one hit wonder following an impressive 39.62m win at the Central Hurdles and Relays earlier this year.

She won ahead of Thaila Harris (38.47m) of Hydel and St Jago’s Latavia Galloway (37.22m).

Jewel Collins also of St Jago who was favoured for a medal, ended fourth with a mark of 36.96m.
