Two St Elizabeth farmers held with cocaine — police
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two farmers were arrested and charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) in connection with the seizure of approximately two kilograms of cocaine in Rocky Point district in Clarendon on Tuesday morning.
Dwayne Thomas, 30, of Warminster district and 32-year-old Andrew Prince of Content district, both in St Elizabeth are charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and trafficking cocaine.
The two were arrested after police officers, who were conducting an operation, intercepted and searched the motorcar in which they were travelling.
According to the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the search yielded two rectangular parcels with cocaine, which is estimated to worth $2.2 million on the streets.
The two farmers are scheduled to appear before the Clarendon Parish Court on Thursday, April 04.
