KINGSTON, Jamaica — Kingston College secured their 32nd hold on the Mortimer Geddes trophy after an exceptional parade while Edwin Allen secured a sixth-straight win on the girls’ side as the curtains came down on a breathtaking 109th ISSA/ GraceKennedy Boys’and Championships at the National Stadium.
Kingston College, who only months ago broke a 32-year drought in winning the Manning Cup, followed that up with this their 32nd win at these championships.
Like they did in breaking Jamaica College’s five-year streak in schoolboy football, the North Street-based school denied Calabar a eighth-straight hold on the Champs trophy.
They amassed 395.5 points to finish way ahead of their rivals who ended on 313 points.
Jamaica College was third on 232.5 points, with St Jago (106.5) and St Elizabeth Technical (90) completing the top five.
On the girls’ side, Edwin Allen successfully staved off a gallant effort from Hydel to win with 291 points as the title heads to Frankfield, Clarendon for at least another year.
Hydel were just seven points off on 284, with Holmwood Technical in third on 220 points.
St Jago (207) was fourth with Rusea’s High (84) completing the top five.
