Stranger Danger puts his unbeaten record on the line as he takes on rivals in the top-rated Open Allowance event that will highlight a good-looking 10-race midweek programme at Caymanas Park today.

The Wayne DaCosta trainee is four from four and will face his toughest task to date in Secret Traveller, Houdini’s Magic and stable companions Winter Is Coming, Hover Craft and Drummer Boy, going one mile (1,600m).

The three-year-olds and upward event is positioned as the fifth event and will go to post at 2:45 pm, with first post at 12:20 pm.

Stranger Danger has been burning up the racetrack at exercise in the mornings and should once again put away rivals and make it five from five.

In his last race in an Overnight Allowance event, Stranger Danger easily brushed aside rivals by 5 ¾ lengths going 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) in a quick 1:17.3 minutes, chipping splits of 23.1, 45.1 and 1:10.3 for 6 furlongs and showing his class and talent. Based on that performance alone, the only thing to say is that Stranger Danger will be racing against the clock in this one as the American-bred dark bay gelding is hard to deny here. Leading rider Omar Walker replaces champion jockey Anthony Thomas in the saddle.

The only runner in the line-up who can challenge Stranger Danger is Houdini’s Magic from the barn of Anthony Nunes. Houdini’s Magic has had three runs this season already and should now be cherry-ripe for this one. The seven-year-old showed on last that he is coming into his own, after finishing in second position behind Superluminal by two lengths over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m). The race ended in 1:31.1 and Houdini’s Magic came home in 1:31.3 under top weight of 57.0 kgs (126 lb).

Despite being asked to carry the same weight, Houdini’s Magic is going to run well once again, and can win if Stranger Danger should disappoint.

Hover Craft and Drummer Boy should fight for the minor placings here, while Secret Traveller and Winter Is Coming will be left behind.
