Driver charged in deadly pedestrian crash
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The Spanish Town Traffic Department charged a man with causing death by dangerous driving, following a crash on Morrison Street in St Catherine last week Tuesday.
He is 26-year-old Major-Mark Bennett, a truck driver of Henry Morgan Avenue, Kingston 11.
Reports are that about 5:40 pm, Bennett was driving a Mitsubishi Fuso Truck along Morrison Street when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which struck 37-year-old Diana Taylor and her three-year-old daughter, both of Morrison Street.
Taylor and her daughter were taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead and her daughter admitted in a stable condition.
Bennett’s court date will be announced at a later date.
Investigations continue.
