Hosannah 2019 was delightful
ORGANISERS of Hosannah 2019: A Festival of Praise are pleased with last Sunday’s staging held at The Church of St Mary the Virgin on Molynes Road in St Andrew.
The annual event is a fundraiser for the church ministries, Sunday school, younth ministry, and upgrading of the church’s facilities.
“The success of the event in presentation is what matters most. The church is proud of the production and the visitors were delighted,” Leslie Mowatt, pastor of The Church of St Mary the Virgin, told the Jamaica Observer.
The event saw stirring religious performances. Solo acts, including DiMario McDowell, Davian Clarke, and Kevin Williams, kept the audience engaged. For those wanting the more congregational experience, the Church of the Resurrection Choir and the church’s own chorale filled that spot.
Mowatt said the feedback from those in attendance was positive. He indicated that many guests stayed to the end, despite the event running past its two-hour schedule.
“From early indications, the audience was extremely appreciative. There have been numerous calls of congratulations to the team and looking to next year already,” he said.
The pastor is hoping its concert will raise much-needed funds.
“The final returns within the fortnight will tell that story,” he said.
