Four firearms found at Hanover cemetery
HANOVER, Jamaica — Detectives from the Hanover Police Division yesterday seized four firearms along with a number of ammunition at the Santoy Cemetery on Church Hill Road, Green Island.
The items are: one Intratec sub-machine gun, a Taurus Pistol, a mini Taurus Pistol, Smith and Wesson Pistol and Seventy-six 9mm rounds of ammunition.
Police said the weapons were seized about 1:10 pm as part of “heightened operational activities across the parish during the Easter holiday period to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors alike”.
Divisional Commander Superintendent Sharon Beeput said an intense investigation is now underway to find suspects in relation to the seizure.
