Scotia customers get Sterling treatment at The Destination Experience
Customers and staff of Scotiabank Jamaica were treated to an empowering and captivating session from world-class keynote speaker on exponential growth and transformational leadership, Sterling Hawkins.
The session was a private masterclass on ‘Digital Transformation for Retail’, offered to key partners as part of the The Destination Experience: Visionaries Summit, in Jamaica. It took place at the Scotiabank training centre in Acadia, Kingston.
Hawkins delivered a thought-provoking and engaging presentation. The workshop was aimed at helping attendees to think outside the box in their business, find innovative solutions to challenges, and to creatively meet and exceed their customers’ needs.
Hawkins explained, “The Innovation MasterClass at Scotiabank was an exercise in bringing together a new vision for the retail industry, along with specific tools and practices, to realise that vision for each of the attendees. There’s a gap between our current, usually incremental projections and what’s technically possible today. Together as a group we were able to step into that gap to see something new and create steps to bring that back to our businesses. It was a pleasure to work with the leading executives we had in the room, and I’m looking forward to seeing where they take it.”
The private workshop had approximately 17 attendees, including a few Scotiabank staff members and Scotia customers primarily from corporate and commercial arenas.
One attendee, Cathrine Kennedy, general manager of Hi-Lo, shared her experience of the event. “Digital Transformation for retail session, “I found it extremely insightful. He’s a futurist who has deep experience in retail. As a new leader in retail [and] as the general manager of Hi-Lo, I really appreciated having that outside perspective about what the future might look like and how we as leaders need to think about digital transformation and innovation in our space. Thank you, Scotiabank for offering this experience to your customers. I really appreciated it and enjoyed the sessions.”
For Hawkins, “The Destination Experience was a great opportunity [for] bringing business leaders from around the world together with Jamaican businesses. The exponential growth of technology is transforming what many business look like — now is the perfect time to be in conversations about what’s newly possible.”
