Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk is back…

Nestlé Jamaica has entered into a co-manufacture arrangement with the Seprod Group to manufacture and produce sweetened condensed milk to satisfy the taste of consumers not just in Jamaica but also across the Caribbean. Two brands of sweetened condensed milk will be available — Nestlé Full Cream (8% milk fat) Sweetened Condensed Milk to “tun up di taste” and Nestlé Green Butterfly filled Sweetened Condensed Milk with 6% milk fat with so much creaminess to enjoy (a combination of milk and plant fat). Consumers love the viscosity that Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk provides and we are happy to relaunch these variants to allow consumers to enhance their favourite hot beverages: teas, coffee, porridges and even indulgent treats like bread pudding, carrot punch and Strong Back.

Where can consumers find Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk?

Launched in March of this year, Nestlé sweetened condensed milks are available in multiple locations across Jamaica where consumers shop — wholesales, supermarkets, small mom and pop stores as well as in the alternative channels. Small businesses and offices can also purchase them from the Nestlé Wholesale Depot, which is located at our head office and distribution centre at Ferry Pen. We will also be including the range on e-Commerce channel to offer greater value and convenience to shoppers.

What is the major challenge of Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk?

Nestlé has been out of the Sweetened Condensed Milk category for three years, during which time the competition has gained strength and consumer preference. The brand Nestlé has a strong heritage and resonates well with consumers so gaining momentum with the Nestlé Full Cream Milk, especially in the southern and western areas of Jamaica, is expected. Nestlé Green Butterfly is a new brand which will require more resources in building its awareness and gaining distribution strength.

What are the future plans for Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk?

Currently, the products are available in a 392g and 395g tin format for the Nestlé Full Cream Sweetened Condensed Milk and Nestlé Green Butterfly, respectively. In the future we will examine varying sizes and formats to satisfy the taste buds and suit social and lifestyle changes for all. We will also be seeking to implement various activities/promotions to not only grow but also maintain interest and consumption levels in both products and innovations to come.
