JCF plans meeting in Sterling Castle after murder of Shantae Skyers
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police will be meeting with residents of Sterling Castle, St Andrew to address issues affecting the community following last week’s murder of eight-year-old Shantae Skyers.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in an advisory today said the meeting will be held at 4:00 pm tomorrow at the Sterling Castle New Testament Church.
Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), Peace Management Initiatives (PMIs) and other government officials are expected to be in attendance.
Shantae, who went missing on Thursday, April 11, was found dead five days later in a section of the community called Blue Hole.
The police held two suspects shortly after her body was discovered, while members of the community set a man ablaze, killing him in relation to the incident.
