Enedina still not ready for the Classics – trainer Lorenzo Robinson
ENEDINA produced a brisk 1:00.2 over five-furlong (1,000m) on the round course on Saturday last (April 20, 2019) to beat rivals by 2 ¼ lengths in Restricted Allowance but according to breeder/owner/trainer Lorenzo Robinson, the three-year-old bay filly is still not ready to contest the remaining Classics for the season.
“Where Classic prospects are concerned, she may not be ready for that bold step. Enedina is coming around nicely but patience is the operative word.
“She has just turned three-years-old and at present, we are just taking it day by day, step by step, as we do not yet know what she will blossom into with time.
“She, Enedina is well bred and that is the key as she has good conformation and more importantly at the moment, she is training well, so let us leave her up to her own improvement for the time being,” Robinson indicated.
In terms of the filly’s development, Robinson was cautious.
“Well, we will see now as she had not done more than a six-furlong gallop. We have not extended her further than six furlongs as she did not show an inclination to go much longer during her preparation. “But the prospect is there and we will just be patient with her and let her settle into her own stride for the time being,” Robinson pointed out.
Patiently ridden by apprentice Raddesh Roman, Enedina ( Film Director – Yaella) came on from behind to deliver the victory.
Reggae Gone Grammy (Reyan Lewis), who was outpaced from early in the race, came on strong on the outside of tiring horses to get second position with Universal Boss (Anthony Thomas) third.
