There have been numerous complaints that water bills have increased over a period of months. With such increases in the amount of money that is charged each month, people can hardly afford to pay the amount owed on time.

A number of residents in the Spanish Town area are also complaining that the pipes are continuously breaking which result is the wasting of the resources. Many people have reported the situations as they occur so that they can be fixed but there has been no action taken to resolve the issue.

Residents are saying that National Water Commission is not doing anything to stop the pipes from dripping continuously, and worry that this results in water bills reflecting unbearable sums of money.

The way in which National Water Commission operates has residents crying that it is unfair and that something has to be done to bring awareness to the water leakage in their communities.

People have suggested some ways in which they think National Water Commission can reply to their complaints:

* They suggested that they could send workers to check the meters at least twice a month to make sure everything is up to date.

* Another notable suggestion is that they could also check the pipes for possible leakage and mend those that need to be fixed.

* As well, they could at least reply and check the reports and complaints that are sent to them through the parish councils.

One only hopes efforts will be made to get these pipes fixed, and the personnel in authority need to act on such immediately and efficiently.
