TFA Major League
KINLOSS, Trelawny — The semi-finalists in the Trelawny Football Association Major League will be decided on Sunday following the playing of the final set of games in the quarter-finals.
Coopers Pen have all but secured their place after winning their first two games, while Wait-A-Bit PYC, Duanvale FC and Holland United, are in prime positions to join them in the semi-finals, set for June 9 and 16.
Group 1 leaders Coopers Pen will play Kinloss FC, and have to lose by three goals to be denied a spot in the top four.
Wait-A-Bit PYC, meanwhile, need only a draw in their game against out of contention Rio Bueno FC at Ulster Spring, to book their spot.
In Group 2, leaders Duanvale FC and Holland United will advance with a point from their games against Jackson Town and Duncans United, respectively.
Jackson Town could crash the party, however, if they can upset Duanvale at Duanvale.
Jackson Town, who are coming off a 2-2 draw against Holland United in a rescheduled game on Sunday, are on two points, two behind the leaders, and a win would ensure their passage through to the semi-finals.
On Sunday, D’Angelo Wilson scored twice for Jackson Town, giving them the lead in the first half, but his time-added goal in the second half, salvaged a point after Holland United had taken the lead in the second half.
Wilson scored his first goal in the 31st minute, and Jackson Town were ahead at half- time before Jahmar Newman equalised for Holland United in the 49th minute.
Cristojaye Daley put Holland United in the lead in the 72nd minute, but Wilson scored his second of the game two minutes into time-added, to rescue a point for Jackson Town, keeping their semi-final hopes alive.
