Young Tycoon Family Records drops debut album
LUCEA, Hanover — New production house, Young Tycoon Family (YTF) Records, is hoping that their debut album, Tycoon Lifestyle, will be among the buzzing projects for the summer.
The project is set to be released tomorrow in partnership with Zojack Worldwide.
Lucea, Hanover native producer and CEO of YTF, Kerry Grant, known in music circles as “Wola”, is optimistic about the project, and is confident that the album, and by extension YTF Records, is set to revolutionise dancehall.
“It’s a dynamic album and features some of the most talented artistes in the business, the sound is new and fresh, and will find favour with all audiences. It’s a groovy mix and will definitely be getting a lot of rotation once it’s released,” said an upbeat Grant.
“Already some of the songs are being played on the western side of the island with rave reviews. So you can imagine with the release, the anticipation is very high.”
The album features dancehall’s new sensations Chronic Law and Jahvillani, the soulful Dre Island, the Junction star Laden, heavy hitters from out west Fada Bookie and J-Yungg, and newcomers Jack Don and Press Play. Upon its release, Tycoon Lifestyle will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and all major online platforms.
This is the first official production from YTF Records and Grant is promising music lovers that great things will come from the label.
“It’s a collaborative effort with a committed and dedicated team behind the scenes and a company that believes that music is about loving all genres of music. Therefore, our productions will be geared towards satisfying those who truly love and appreciate the art of music and are not restricted in a box,” Grant explained.
YTF Records was conceptualised by Grant in 2014 and officially launched in 2019.
Grant, who describes himself as “a music lover from birth”, got into production after being intrigued by the behind-the-scenes process and intricacies of producing.
