Sizzla headlines Appleton series tonight
SIZZLA is the headliner of tonight’s Appleton Estate Signature Nights live music series scheduled for Appleton Estate Murray’s Chillin’ in Clarendon.
Show is slated to begin at 9:00 pm.
“For my fans who will be seeing me perform live for the first time at Appleton Estate Signature Nights, you can expect more excitement, Sizzla burning the fire, singing your favourite songs and being up close and personal with me. You can make your requests and it will be a beautiful atmosphere for the people, one of love and respect,” said the singjay, whose given name is Miguel Collins.
“I love performing in Jamaica; it’s the home of reggae music and where I can really feel the energy of the people receiving the music.”
Sizzla is no stranger to controversy. He was recently pulled from this year’s line-up on ‘Reggae on the River’ due to pressure from California gay rights lobby group.
He also collaborated on Holy Mountain, which features Buju Banton and Mavado, from American producer DJ Khaled’s album, Father of Ashad. The single debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums chart in May.
Reggae artiste Zagga is also on the bill. Both acts will be backed by the Fire House Crew.
“Reggae music is a special genre of music that speaks to spirituality and duty to maintain the principle of reggae music, and that is the consciousness. With a live band, I’m looking forward to bringing out the natural feeling from the people; they will see the instruments being played right before their eyes and the professionalism of the artistes…It’s the artistes up close and personal with the fans.”
