Motorcross moves to Temple Hall
The third of the six events in the 2019 MX Jamaica season is scheduled to take place this Sunday at Temple Hall MX Park in Temple Hall, St Andrew.
Action is slated to begin at noon.
“Sunday is going to be some exciting handle to handle racing. Expect to see a lot of crashes and thrills,” Kyle Reynolds of MX Jamaica told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
The Temple Hall MX Park offers a distinct difference in relation to the other venue used by MX Jamaica, DaCosta Farms in St Catherine. DaCosta Farms is a more open and faster layout lined by dry gravel due to the parish’s signature heat. Temple Hall, in the cooler hills of St Andrew, is much tighter and can get muddy due to afternoon rains. This leads to a completely different strategy.
“Temple Hall is a much tighter track so the racing should be action packed,” Reynolds said.
Heading into the third round, several competitors are hoping to cement their points lead.
In the 50cc class, six-year-old Craig Powell Jr has a comfortable lead. Rylan Sampson leads the 65cc class as does Cruz Kow in the 85cc class. Jason McIntosh tops the Quad class.
In the faster groupings, it’s Reynolds who leads the A and Open classes, while Kyle South leads the B class.
