Legalising Obeah before term limits?
Dear Editor,
It is rather strange to me that the Government of Jamaica has decided to focus time and resources on the legalisation of Obeah when there are more pressing matters to be dealt with.
In the 2016 General Election we were told that a priority of this Andrew Holness-led Government would be the introduction of term limits for politicians and fixed election dates.
I have a hard time understanding how the legalisation of Obeah supersedes those issues.
As a matter of fact, the current Government seems to have more interest in selling off prime farmlands, destroying the Cockpit Country, and legalising Obeah, than anything else.
I am beginning to regret the choice I made in the last election.
