Earthworm is convinced that communities at odds for years in and around Red Hills Road in Kingston are united behind his recently released street anthem What Yu Get Outta Bad Mind?

“The whole Kingston 19, the whole Red Hills Road ah support the thing, as far back as Whitehall. So me grateful how everybody ah push it to the next level. The mixtape man dem ah give me great energy. The people know me a bad artiste, dem want something gwaan fi Earthworm and it ah happen,” said the deejay.

Produced on the Victory Squad Entertainment label, What Yu Get Outta Bad Mind? was released on May 10. It is available on all digital download platforms.

Earthworm has been performing the song all community events since its release.

“(Producer) Jah Snowcone say me fi go road every night until the song buss. So me just a put in the work,” he said.

Earthworm, whose given name is Kevin Anthony Isaacs, is well known in dancehall circles for his single She’s My Baby. For a few years, he was affiliated with the Vybz Kartel-led Portmore Empire.

He grew up in Montego Bay where he attended Anchovy High. He ditched school at 14 and went to Kingston to pursue his dream of being a deejay.

He recorded his first official song, Woman Yu Know Yu Body Good, in 1999 on the African Museum label for his uncle Gregory Isaacs.

He began to hang out with Kartel’s Portmore Empire between 2006 to 2008 and performed on several shows including Reggae Sumfest (2006) and Sting (2007). Kartel is currently serving a life sentence on a murder rap.

In 2008, he returned to live in Montego Bay. Three years later, he scored a big hit with She’s My Baby on the Gearbox riddim for Truckback Records.

His other songs include Ride It and Smoke and Drink, featuring Munga Honorable.

“Mi just want to big up everybody who ah continue to support the ting,” he said.
