Late night toast to Koffee
An up-coming album, school tour in Jamaica and the Caribbean, and talks of contributing songs to Rihanna’s album are some of the projects in the pipeline for fast-rising Koffee.
The Toast singer is set to make her North American late night television début with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC tonight.
Koffee’s publicist, Abigail Rowe, told the Jamaica Observer that the appearance on American network television is a result of the singjay’s recent designation as the latest Up Next Artist, by global streaming service Apple Music. Previous Apple Up Next artistes included Greta Van Fleet, Khalid, Billie Eilish, Sigrid, and Jax Jones.
“This is part of their (Apple Music) whole promo around that feature. It’s not necessarily part of a media blitz so to speak and there are no immediate plans to have her on other late-night shows, but that does not say it won’t happen in the future. She’s very grateful for all the opportunities that she has been given. She keeps her friends and family close and has surrounded herself with a strong team, so she is coping very, very well,” said Rowe.
The publicist said the artiste is taking her meteoric rise in stride.
Koffee is fresh off a great performance one week ago at Couples Sans Souci in Tower Isle, St Mary, where she performed at a charity show alongside Third World and Air Supply.
Rowe explained that Koffee wants to share her music with audiences worldwide and is taking advantage of every opportunity.
“She also has some plans to do some school tours from the end of August into September. The details for those are not yet confirmed so I am unable to say anything more, but she definitely wants to give back something to schools whether it is just go there and speak to students or perform, we are still working it out,” Rowe disclosed. “She is currently also working on the album, however, there are no timelines just yet regarding a release date.”
The 19-year-old artiste released her maiden EP, Rapture, in March. Since then the former Ardenne High School student has been busy with performances and appearances. Last October, it was announced that she signed to Columbia Records.
