Vows – They Found Love

Sunday, April 28, 2019 was the day chosen by radiographer Krysta-Gae Chambers and barber Sean Lingard to exchange vows on the lawns of Sea Bell Resort in Hope Bay, Portland. Vows brings you the magical moments.

First encounter, as told by Krysta-Gae

I have known Sean for 15 years. We met while attending Titchfield High School in Port Antonio. We literally met at the bus stop where, determined to get my attention, he asked if he could wait with me until the arrival of my bus. I feigned indifference but deep down was happy for the company. As a matter of fact I gave him my number. He called the very next day. Our friendship blossomed into love and the rest, as they say, is history. Six years later I gave brith to our daughter Nyla, who made our bond even stronger.

The proposal came on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Reggae Falls in St Thomas. It was the perfect end to a fun-filled day. Naturally I said, “Yes!”

Here comes the bride

The processional began as the bridesmaids, who wore blush off-the-shoulder dresses from Fashion Nova, were escorted up the aisle by the groomsmen, dressed in navy blue suits, white shirts and blush pink bow ties by Oraine White.

With Bebe and Cece Winans’ I Found Love as a backdrop, Krysta-Gae made her entrance on the arm of her uncle Merrick Hartley. She was picture-perfect in a white sweetheart neckline crystal mermaid gown from DHgate.com as she made her way up the aisle to her bridegroom. Her gorgeous bouquet was composed of roses, calla lilies and orchids.

Guided by Minister Rupert Kelly the couple exchanged their vows.

The reception

The reception was held at the Hartley residence in Hope Bay, Portland. Shevanese Lee used shades of navy blue and blush pink with gold, and Mason jars to enhance the area. The bridal party made their entrance to a medley of current hits, followed by the newly-weds, who entered to Patoranking ‘s My Woman, My Everything featuring Wande Coal. The evening continued with the unveiling of the three-tiered fruitcake by Kacia Minott-Haynes and a hearty reception dinner catered by a group of family friends.

A highlight of the evening was the bride and groom’s first dance as husband and wife to Jennifer Hudson’s Giving Myself.

The Bahamas and Florida have been identified as possible honeymoon spots.
