Seaga funeral: Chairs for sale
KINGSTON, Jamaica— An hour before the start of the State funeral for former Prime Minister Edward Seaga chairs went on sale directly across from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity where supporters and well wishers of the late PM gathered.
Several young boys hoisted chairs above their heads as they made their way through the crowd shouting, “sale, sale a quality chair”.
When OBSERVER ONLINE inquired, one of the boys said the chairs were going for $500 each.
“If you nuh have that you can give me $400 mi nah hard pon yuh,” the boy, who appeared to be no more than 13 years old, said.
Another young man who was seen carrying a wooden chair said he could better the first price by giving a $100 discount.
The funeral service for Seaga is scheduled to start at 12 noon.
Interment will take place at National Heroes Park.
