Seaga Funeral: Elderly man limps to pay final respect to his ‘boss’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Not even seventy-one-year-old Harry Dewar’s disability could stop him from attending the funeral service for former Prime Minister Edward Seaga.
Dewar, who gingerly made his way up North Street towards Holy Trinity Cathedral where the funeral is scheduled to begin at noon, said he had to pay his final respect.
The elder, who has a speech impediment as a result of a stroke, told OBSERVER ONLINE that Jamaica’s fifth prime minister was his “boss”.
“I love him,” he said as he wiped away sweat from his face.
Fay Parnell, who said she saw him along the roadway and was concerned about his welfare, sought assistance to get him to the church but he refused.
“I will walk,” he uttered.
