A God of Love, Toona Ciliata duel in SVREL Sprint Trophy race

Rolled out on the Boom Jamaica Derby raceday is the Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited Sprint Trophy tomorrow at Caymanas Park.

Seven improving three-year-olds are down to take part in the Graded Stakes event going 6 furlongs (1,200m).

The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at each runner and analyse their chances of winning.

1. NUCLEAR EVITA: (3-y-o rn. f — Nuclear Wayne — Dunkirk’s Evita) — Was a winner when last out, going 5 furlongs straight on May 25, beating Splendid Vision and Casual Drink but winning here is not possible at this time.

2. PRINCE CHARLES: (3-y-o ch. g — Mine Over Matter — She’s Spectacular) – Finished in fourth place behind God of Love, Father Patrick and Rojorn Di Pilot in a 5 ½-furlong (1,100m) event on June 1. Prince Charles was coming off back-to-back wins but after setting the early pace with Rojorn Di Pilot, he faltered in deep stretch. With the short rest and half-a-furlong more to travel, Prince Charles should now get into the mix, despite taking on God of Love again.

3. LADY BLUE: (3-y-o ch. f — Blue Pepsi Lodge — The Vibes Lady) – Finished in fourth place in the recent Jamaica Oaks on May 4. Lady Blue was simply outdone by the 10 furlongs of that race. She is now reverting to a more suitable journey here and given her speed and class, Lady Blue is going to prove competitive. Lady Blue was a winner over this distance, having won the Hotline Stakes feature on February 23, clocking a time of 1:13.3.

4. TOONA CILIATA: (3-y-o ch. g — Soul Warrior –—racing over 7 furlongs (1,400m) on May 4. Then Toona Ciliata was nowhere to be found and ended up finishing sixth behind Legality and God of Love. Despite facing God of Love here, Toona Ciliata has every chance of winning as based on past performances he has the class and talent to do so. Before his second-place finish in the 2000 Guineas on April 14, Toona Ciliata won the Prince Consort Stakes by 1 ¼ length over 7 furlongs on March 16 in a time of 1:25.4 which showed that he has what it takes to put these away.

5. GOD OF LOVE: (3-y-o b. g — Adore The Gold — Shanda) — Came with a strong run off the pace to beat Father Patrick and Rojorn Di Pilot by 2 ½ lengths going 5 ½ furlongs on June 1. God of Love won in a time of 1:05.3 which is more than enough to suggest that he can easily win this trophy race. The extra half-a-furlong is going to be to his liking as well.

6. ROJORN DI PILOT: (3-y-o b. c — Liquidity — I’m Magic) — Came off a 5-month break to win first time out for the season in a 5-furlong (1000m) round event on May 18, 2019, beating Universal Boss by over 2 lengths in 1:00.1. Rojorn Di Pilot then finished third behind God of Love and Father Patrick and has to improve a lot if he is to turn the tables.

7. ENEDINA: (3-y-o b. f — Film Director — Yaella) — Good filly who continues to hold her own but not against these.
