Clarendon woman stabbed, house set ablaze in attempted murder-suicide
MAY PEN, Clarendon — A woman has been hospitalised after she was stabbed multiple times and her house set ablaze in Pleasant Valley, Clarendon this morning.
Her spouse, 28-year-old Mark Riley, who the police are speculating was the attacker, perished in the fire.
Reports from the May Pen police are that, residents heard the woman crying for help from the burning house about 4:15 am and summoned the police and fire department.
The responding officers reportedly found the woman with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to hospital for treatment while members of the Jamaica Fire Brigade extinguished the blaze.
Subsequently, Riley’s charred remains were found among the rubble, the police said.
The woman is hospitalised in serious condition.
