INDECOM impeding police
Dear Editor,
Last year, the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) issued a report complaining about the number of police shootings.
Fact is, we should have a high rate of police fatal shootings in Jamaica because we have a high rate of murder and a high number of gunmen who are not shy about shooting at the police.
The Government needs to stop pussyfooting. Give the police clear support. If a gunman shoots at the police, shoot to kill!
We have too many innocent people dying to have INDECOM making our police reluctant to take on gunmen.
When you see the police entering a community with blue lights flashing, or taking hours to arrive when there is a shoot-out, it is because they are afraid to get involved in any confrontation with gunmen as INDECOM will come breathing down their necks.
