Messieh makes a difference
Giving back to the community is something singer Messieh holds close to his heart. Based in the United Kingdom, he has been active as a social worker in his hometown of Mount Salem, St James for the past year.
“I do a lot of social work in Mount Salem due to my affiliation with the Mandingo Youth Club and I saw it necessary as a former resident of the community, to give back in a positive way,” said Messieh, who performs similar duties with the Mek Ah Step Volunteer Creative Arts Program in the UK.
“I’ve been working closely with Mek Ah Step and the Mandingo Youth Club for a while now. So far, we have been able to make some positive impact on the youths in Mount Salem. I’ve also travelled with Mek A Step to work with the youths in Gambia,” he added.
Last year, he released the song Unity in The Community which is produced by Life Valley Entertainment. His latest single, Man A Warrior, is due for release next week. Good People, a collaboration with Iyah Syte, is scheduled for release in November.
“I believe this song ( Man A Warrior) has the potential to be a hit and we are working on a music video to be released shortly,” Messiej disclosed.
Messieh, whose real name is Sanjay Thomas, launched his music career in 2012 with the album Revolution Time.
