#Doha2019: Jamaica’s Thompson moves into women’s 100m hurdles semis
Yanique Thompson from Jamaica finished second to advance to the semi-finals of the women’s 100 metres at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday.
Thompson’s good
start was bettered by that of Lumiosa Bogiolo of Italy as the Jamaican tracked
her throughout the race, but could not past.
Bogiolo was
clocked in 12.80 seconds with Thompson doing 12.85 for second as third went to
Anne Zagre of Belarus in a season best of 12.91 and fourth to Brianna Beahan of
Australia in 13.11. The top four automatically qualify for the sem-finals.
Meanwhile,
Olympic Games champion Brianna McNeal of the United States of America was
disqualified for a false start.
